Where is the best place to find bluebonnets in Texas? Where is a beautiful area of flowers? Where is the grass green with lots of trees for miles and miles? Where should we go to take our family photographs in the Spring?
As photographers, we get asked these questions a lot. Of course, there are places “everyone” goes,, kind of the in crowd. There are secret places we don’t even tell our Mother because we are afraid 100 photographers will be there tomorrow. (Just kidding Mom, I tell you everything.. ) Then there are places we find out about from our clients. Now those are the real treasures to me.
I have lived in Texas about 17 years, mainly Arlington and Fort Worth and I have my locations, and I am happy with the areas I know and love. I am not one to scout locations and go on hunts for new areas to photograph. I really don’t have the time. My downtime usually involves wine and maybe a chair. But seriously, I love it when clients call me up with places they love.
We learned about the beauty of Ennis, Texas that way. It is literally known as the bluebonnet capital of Texas. Did you know that? I sure didn’t. I had never thought to google, “bluebonnet capital of Texas” before when I had a call for bluebonnets. But now I know. And I love that location so much I most likely wouldn’t even charge a travel fee to go there for a session fee.- but don’t quote me on that, ok? 🙂
